Your wedding stationery is an important part of your day; it’s the first thing that guests will see as a glimpse into what your wedding may be like. But when it comes to choosing style, there are a lot of factors to consider before you make your decision.

If you already have a good idea of your wedding theme, then this is a great place to start. Will your wedding be bright and colourful, light and airy, or rock’n’roll chic? Knowing what kind of style you wish to portray on the day will help you make the decisions when it comes to the style of your invitation.

Thankfully, there are lots of stationery suppliers out there who make this process much easier, and that’s just one of the things we love about Their website is clean, sleek and easy to navigate, with categories such as ‘elegant’, ‘rustic’ and ‘floral’ making it easier to narrow down your options. You can also further narrow down your search by colour, paper type and even search through the vast range of independent designers available on the Rosemood site – all of which can be personalised to suit you.

How many?

Before you make your order, it’s always a good idea to know your numbers – have you finalised your guest list yet? Knowing how many people you want to invite will help when it comes to requesting a quote. Be careful not to make the mistake of ordering for each guest – remember that many will be attending as couples or a family, so before you make your order, be sure to group these together which can help you manage your budget. You may also wish to add a few extras just to cover you for any mistakes you may make during the writing process – and one to keep as a reminder of the day, of course…

“Rosemood offers free samples of wedding stationery to give customers a feel for the high-quality of our paper and printing,” say the Rosemood team. “Every bride or groom-to-be is also entitled to one free personalised sample so that they can see their favourite design in print with their choice of wording and photos.”

What shall I order?

When it comes to your stationery, there’s not just the invitations to think about – it’s also great to consider what other things you’d like to tie in with your design: RSVP cards & envelopes, thank you cards & envelopes, place names, table numbers, menu’s and even an order of service – all of which Rosemood have you covered. When you click on the invitation you like, Rosemood will show you ‘Products to match…’ underneath – you could get even more creative and add wedding stickers and gift tags to your order too!

When shall I order?

We would suggest that you plan your stationery in time for it to be printed, addressed and posted at least three months prior to your wedding day. This gives your guests plenty of time to RSVP so that you can begin planning seating and catering arrangements – don’t forget to include those RSVP cards and envelopes too!

Wording and personalisation

Rosemood’s stunning designs can all be personalised to add your names and wedding details, and this can all be done online in a quick and easy process. However the wording for your invitations can be a bit of a minefield, so here’s a list of everything you’ll need to include for your guests:

  • Your wedding date, time and place – remember to make a note of your reception venue if this differs to your ceremony venue

  • Yours and your partners full names – some people also wish to include their parent’s names if they’re the hosts, i.e. “Mr & Mrs Smith invite you to the wedding of their daughter…” however this is quite an old tradition that stems from the bride’s parents typically being the ones to support the wedding financially. It’s by no means a necessity.

  • The names of the guests you’re inviting – when designing your invitations on the Rosemood website, this space is left blank for you to handwrite your guests names. Why not try your hand at learning calligraphy? Or use a gold, silver or copper gel pen to fit with the theme of your invitations?

  • RSVP details – give your guests a date to RSVP by. You could either add an RSVP card for them to sign and reply, or ask them for their response via email or text message. You might also wish to ask them for any dietary requirements too.

“All wedding stationery can be personalised online and will be checked by our team of professional proofreaders,” say the Rosemood team. “They will ensure that no sneaky typos make it onto your final printed products! Our graphic designers also ensure the layout of all wedding stationery is well balanced and harmonised and will check and optimise the quality of photos for printing. This complimentary retouching service is included with all of our personalised stationery.”

Choosing your wedding stationery is fun, and Rosemood have taken away all of the pressures you may feel during the planning process – so all you need to do is sit back and relax and wait for your stunning designs to be delivered!
