We were so glad when this beauty of a wedding popped into our inbox! Back in the summer we had the privalige of hosting the big day of Rikki & Sam and we knew if the photos relfected the atmosphere on the day we couldnt wait to share them with you…and they did not disapoint. Beautiful images by Andrew Coeley.
Rikki and Sam’s wedding day was fun filled from begining to end. Making the most of every second of the day, they started their celebrations by traveling in style together with their guests on a white vintage bus through the beautiful grounds of Calke Abbey.
The couple looked as smart as any dapper gentlemen in their tweed suits but let their individual personalities shine through. The Riding School was delicately lit, and Sam and Rikki allowed this quirky and unique space to speak for itself. The stunning canopy of lights and ribbons designed by the fantastic Fabric Theatre, created a romantic glow in the room. The perfect setting for the ‘I do’s’. The very talented harppist Jessica Sutton provided beautiful background music for the ceremony and drinks reception.
Sam and Rikki brought sunshine to the barn with bunches of yellow gerberas and sunflowers around the room. The Riding School is the perfect blank canvas for any colour scheme, from elegent whites to out there bold pops of yellow. We love how the choice of flowers reflected a sense of fun which Rikki and Sam are so clearly all about.
Following a heartfelt and emotional ceremony, the beautiful isle lined with gypsophelia led a pathway to the bar lounge area and out into the cobbled courtyard for that classic confetti shot. The illuminated letters looked fab against the rustic brick backdrop, another lovely feature of the space.
After drinks and canepes with their guests, the drapes in the Riding School were opened up revealing the vast space including the wedding breakfast area. This is always a nice reveal for couples who’ve spent time carefully selecting table linen and decorations, or lovingy hand labeling wedding favours. This is when the room truly comes into it’s own. The couple chose to go with the rustic feel of the building with thier hessian table runners and brought the sunshine in with more sunflowers. Whilst the guests enjoyed a drink or two, Sam and Rikki took a moment for themselves to explore the grounds with their photographer.
After a few snaps the gents headed back up to the Riding School to enjoy a wedding feast served up by Black Peppermint before the space was transformed once again with lighting and entertainment with a twist! No two weddings have the same atmosphere and couples are able to really personalise the space with lighting and decoration.
The evenings entertainment was provided by ‘Light it Up‘ from Warble Entertainment. Like nothing the Riding School has seen before, the band provided a quirky twist and lit up the dancefloor with their LED instruments! Sam & Rikki even turned their hand to the drums! A fantastic end to a fantastic day.
