The Christmas countdown has begun here at Honeysuckle & Castle HQ, and to kick off the start of December and get all of you lovely brides and grooms-to-be in the festive spirit, we have a very exciting competition!
All of your married friends will say the same thing: your wedding day will come and go in the blink of an eye, and those all-important photographs are the perfect keepsake for looking back on the memories. Whoever you decide to choose for your photographer will most likely have an idea of what they’d like to shoot on the day, but it doesn’t hurt to give them a little guideline too, particularly if you have specific shots in mind to include certain family members, or capture certain moments.
Last year, we were honoured for Stancliffe Hall and its stunning gardens to be the beautiful backdrop behind a styled photoshoot with The Sugared Rose. Working with a hugely talented team of individuals, Matt from Field Photographic was able to capture some incredible images that were used in the June 2018 issue of Wedding Ideas magazine.
We wanted to take this opportunity to share some of those images with those of you who manage to see the feature in the magazine, because, well, they’re just to beautiful not to be shared!
Last week, we hosted our June Open Evening at Stancliffe Hall, which marks our third event at the gorgeous home so far this year. It was the perfect June afternoon: the sun was shining and the doors of the Hall had been left open for guests to wander around the property and see it dressed and styled as if for a real wedding.
Last weekend, it was Hardwick Hall’s turn to host our Luxurious Wedding Show, and it definitely did not disappoint. Even the slight drizzle of October rain didn’t put guests off as they gathered to catch a glimpse of some serious wedding inspiration.
Theme weddings are like Marmite; some people love them, some people hate them. It is such a broad topic that a wedding can range from being ‘vintage’ themed, with classy and glamorous decor, or ‘pastel’ themed, like you saw in Tom & Andrea’s wedding last week, to Disney themed; which is right at the other end of the ‘theme wedding’ scale.
Last weekend, we hosted our first wedding show of the Autumn at Calke Abbey, and it was a great success! The Riding School was filled with industry suppliers from photographers, to venue styling, to entertainment and catering – it really was every Bride-to-be’s dream!
Back in May we had the pleasure of hosting the wedding of Carina and Zeyad at Calke Abbey. Upon initially meeting the Bride and Groom, we could see that they were two creative souls who had visions of a classy yet bohemian-inspired wedding day.
With the bride’s flair for styling and the groom’s technical knowledge, the pair crafted most of their wedding decor themselves, calling upon help from their family and friends to get involved with the most intricate details that made their day so special. This included growing the flowers in their garden, to the gorgeous letter lights, and even the table linen.
Calling all brides! Are you newly engaged or planning a wedding? Then make sure you save the dates for our upcoming wedding show’s, hosted in our stunning venues across the East Midlands.
We understand that planning a wedding can be an overwhelming feat – and maybe all wedding-planning brides are guilty of scrolling through Pinterest a little too much – that’s where we come in! A wedding fair is a great place to begin your wedding planning, with everything under one roof from entertainment, to caterers and florists, you’ll be ticking things off your ‘to do’ list before you can say ‘I do’!
